Industry is interested to know penetration of welding when two parts are welded together. To know penetration of welding, joined parts are cut across the weldment and treated with Nitric acid. Application of Nitric acid over a cross-section gives different shade corresponding to material that got fused during welding. A software or a mobile app is needed that can automatically measure area of fused part and give a numerical value indicative of depth of penetration.
